SCALE

Orbit, Mechanical Moon, Firmament and Contraterrene - have, in many ways, solidified my interest in the cosmos throughout this MA course. The big attractor being a sense of scale, created through observation of the circle, or sphere. The celestial sphere - planets, suns, moons - and the microscopic spheres - cells, viruses, bacteria.

I found that it was often hard to distinguish between images of very big things and images of very small things - the extreme range between the telescope and the microscope. I like how the change in perspective creates an enigmatic illusion of size.
CONTRATERRENE
DEMO
In this short demo, the planetary scale gives way to the microscopic. As we get farther from the object, the scale shifts from something that could be giant, to something on the opposite end of the spectrum.
